Benefit Concert for Afghanistan on March 20th
BACH COMES TO LAFAYETTE!
To Purchase Tickets, go online: TIE Benefit Concert or call (925) (299-2010 Ext 4).
TIE has been extremely fortunate in enlisting people willing to headline fund raising events, including author Khaled Hosseini, comedian Mark Lundholm, Ambassador Jawad (former ambassador to the United States from Afghanistan), and magician, Patrick Martin.
I’m very pleased to announce our next get together will include Tanya Gabrielian, an internationally acclaimed concert pianist. Tanya, noted by the Washington Post for her “strikingly poised nobility” and “commanding presence” has performed at Carnegie and Alice Tully Halls in New York, Sydney Opera House, Queen Elizabeth Hall and Wigmore Hall in London, and the Salle Cortot in Paris. Visit her website for more information (www.tanyagabrielian.com).
I met Tanya last summer at one of her performances in Bigfork Montana. Following her performance, I joined a long line of admirers and waited for my turn. I began by asking “Would you like to perform in Afghanistan”. Her immediate response was, “yes!” That day may come, but not now.
