Partners in Afghanistan

islamic republic of afghanistan ministry_of_education Some of the schools that TIE supports are operated by the Ministry of Education.
islamic republic of ministry_of_economy The Ministry of Economy approved TIE’s registration as a foreign NGO. TIE provides periodic activity reports and accounts to the Ministry for its expenditure of funds.
american medical overseas American Medical Overseas Relief (AMOR) built Afshar Hospital in Kabul, Afghanistan. The hospital is operated by Afghans, with oversight and support from Dr. Mark Scoffield. TIE provided medical supplies and equipment to Afshar Hospital and knitted hats and socks to babies it has delivered.
global_hope_network_international Global Hope Network International (GHNI) has partnered with TIE to provide 16,000 poplar tree cuttings which were planted by two farmers in April 2011.

US Partners

global-alliance-for-clean-cookstoves-logo---for-partner-use The Global Alliance for Clean Cookstoves is a public-private partnership that seeks to save lives, improve livelihoods, empower women, and protect the environment by creating a thriving global market for clean and efficient household cooking solutions.
stop_hunger_now TIE was chosen by Stop Hunger Now and Reverend Billy Olsen to distribute packages of enriched rice that were packaged by volunteers from the Christ United Methodist Church in Fayetteville, North Carolina. Stop Hunger Now provided us with enough rice to provide over 13 million meals, all of which has been delivered to families living in refugee camps or designated by teachers as the poorest in their village.

Organizational Donors

Khaled Hosseini, author of The Kite RunnerA Thousand Splendid Suns, and  And The Mountains Echoed has been a keynote speaker at several of TIE’s fundraising events. He has been an inspirational force throughout TIE’s history. His foundation has also provided grants for several of TIE’s programs and projects.
The MDRT Foundation provided TIE with a $5,000 grant, enough to purchase over 100 desks for the girl’s school in the village of Farza.

Nazifa  Sidiq, founder of Bolani, and her family have donated their time and delicious Afghan food to TIE’s “Fun Raising” events.
Global Healing provided a $7500 grant towards construction of a school for girls in Farza, which has been completed.

American Donors of Goods and Services

800 lbs of medical supplies were provided to TIE at minimal cost, which were then delivered to the Afshar Hospital in Kabul.
John Muir Medical Center provided more than 150 crutches, walkers and canes that were delivered to the Afshar hospital.
When the law firms of Hanson Bridgett LLP and Farella, Braun & Martel LLP upgraded their computers, they donated the computers that were replaced to TIE. As a consequence has been able to provide computer classes to hundreds of Afghan children.
Trust in Education was fortunate to have been chosen to help distribute beautiful illustrated children’s books featuring traditional Afghan teaching stories to children in the villages Trust in Education serves.
The Sports Basement donated shoes, shin guards, jerseys, socks and soccer balls for the soccer programs supported by TIE.
Maclaren Baby selected Trust in Education to distribute 1000 new backpacks to Afghan children.
Trust in Education was chosen to distribute 800 songbooks and CDs with Afghan children’s music, created by Louise Pascale.
Trust in Education was chosen to distribute over 100 solar flashlights donated by One Million Lights. These became coveted prizes for TIE’s art, spelling and writing contests.
Shumba Marimba performed at a fundraising concert organized for Trust in Education.
