Parenting Workshop for Parents and Grandparents
Reversing the Trend from Narcissism to Compassion

Date: April 8th, 2020
Time: 7:00 pm

Join the founder of Trust in Education, Budd MacKenzie, in a thought-provoking discussion of one of the most troubling trends of our time: the increase of narcissism and the decline of empathy. MacKenzie will share practical tools, actions and compassion-boosting activities for parents and teachers, based on his extensive humanitarian work in Afghanistan and on research for the development of college courses for teachers. Come learn how to impart the lesson to children that “the greatest rewards in life come from the impact we have on the lives of others!”

Location: Don Tatzin Community Hall at Lafayette Library, 3491 Mt Diablo Blvd, Lafayette, CA 94549

Pen_Chewy

Trust in Education will sponsor a presentation by Royal Marine Sergeant Pen Farthing, founder of Nowzad Dogs (www.nowzad.org) and recipient of the 2014 CNN Hero Award on Friday, Oct. 16. Farthing, the author of three books (One Dog at a Time, Wiley, and No Place Like Home), will speak at the Lafayette Library about the difficulties and rewards of rescuing animals in Afghanistan, a country where dogs are not considered “man’s best friend,” and the Taliban remains a serious threat.
